Our team is commissioning the first prototype of the OBC-200 our next generation Command and Data Handling System (CDH).

The new OBC-200 is a significant step up from the previous OBC-100 and OBC-110 designs in terms of available processing power, storage and supported interfaces. As usual with designs from Berlin Space Technologies GmbH we follow a strict bus and payload separation. That means the OBC-200 does not include the DPU function for the payload (see yesterdays image).

Despite the vastly increased complexity all current tests indicate that we got it first time right. Congratulations to the team!

After commissioning the OBC-200 will be qualified to BST standards and will reach TRL9 early 2023 with one of our upcoming satellites where it flies as an in orbit demonstration (IOD) experiment.
