NewSpace and new business models were discussed in an event organised at the Deutsche Parlamentarische Gesellschaft. Many interesting technical and legal topics were addressed, too.
On 11th of May the law firm GvW Graf von Westphalen together with the NewSpace Initiative of the German Industry Association (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V.) invited to a discussion round about the hot topics of the #spaceindustry .
After greetings from Dr. Werner Schnappauf and Matthias Johannes
The speaker for technology of the German green party Dieter Janecek gave his view on the topic, followed by the coordinator for space and startups of the German federal government Anna Christmann. The main discussion was between Jörn Spurmann of Rocket Factory Augsburg – RFA, Thomas Grübler from OroraTech and Kristina Nikolaus from OKAPI:Orbits GmbH. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Grace Nacimiento.
In the audience we had Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla, head of German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Klaus-Peter Willsch, head of the parliamentary group for aerospace.
Among the discussed topics were the three main priorities for space : what is it good for, how do we do it and what are the conditions (technical and legal) that we work under.
A very interesting evening in which space start ups, newspace SME, politics and legal experts discussed the future of German newspace.
